Towards Right Care

Worth a Read

What would “Right Care” look like?

The current healthcare reform debate is an opportunity for us to reflect on how to “achieve optimum access to and delivery of, health care and services.” The Lancet has started a series on Right Care that  “examines the extent of overuse and underuse worldwide, highlights the drivers of inappropriate care, and provides a framework to begin to address overuse and underuse together to achieve the right care for health and wellbeing.” Wendy Levinson, chair of Choosing Wisely Canada writes about Choosing Wisely around the world. If you are still looking for a “summer read” consider Elizabeth Rosenthal’s : An American Sickness: How Healthcare became Big Business and How You Can Take It Back.
