Farley/Frey Event - Sept 3 & Grand Rounds - Sept 4, 2014

We are pleased to announce the 2014 Farley/Frey Event will take place on Wed, September 3, 2014 from 5:30‐7:30 PM at the Health Sciences Learning Center (HSLC), 750 Highland Avenue, Madison, WI.

This year, Dr. Tillman Farley will be the Farley Lecturer.  Dr. Farley is the son of Gene and Linda Farley. 

The 2014 John J. Frey, MD Creative Writing Awards will also be presented.

"The Role of Race and Racism in Health Disparities" - Presented by Dr. Tillman Farley

Tillman Farley, MD

Dr. Farley is currently the Executive Vice President for Medical Services of Salud Family Health Centers, a migrant/community health center with clinics across north and northeast Colorado. He also has a regular full-time appointment as Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine in the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. Farley graduated from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Rochester. He spent three years in private practice in upstate New York, and three years in practice in far west Texas directing two federally qualified rural health centers prior to moving to Colorado. Dr. Farley has implemented a variety of successful integrated care models in practices in New York, Texas, and Colorado. Dr. Farley's research interests include integrated primary care and health disparities. He lectures widely on integrated primary care, community health, health disparities, racism in healthcare, and immigrant health.
