Faculty Profile: James Bigham, MD

We are pleased James Bigham, MD, MPH, has joined the Department of Family Medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor. Starting November 2012, James has been providing patient care and teaching clinical care to medical students at the UW Health Odana Atrium Clinic. 

James received his medical degree and Masters of Public Health from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.  After medical school, James completed his Family Medicine Residency at the UW-Madison Family Medicine Residency Program.

James' specific medical interests are Public health with a focus on global health - HIV/AIDS Kenya, Travel medicine, Preventive medicine and OB.

On the personal side, James is married to Paula, who is a High School English teacher at Middleton-Cross Plains School District.

His hobbies include gardening, cooking, reading, wildneress backpacking/hiking, and cross country skiing. He has a life goal of visiting every ball park in Major League Baseball.  To date, he has been to 25 of the 30 parks.
