Faculty Profile: Jacqueline Gerhart, MD

Please join us in welcoming Jacqueline Gerhart, MD to the Department of Family Medicine.

Jackie will be joining the UW Health Deforest-Windsor Family Medicine Clinic in August.

She is a Wisconsin native and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience.

As an undergrad, Jackie worked designing medical devices, but ultimately decided her passion was in patient care.  She attended medical school at Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota, where she developed a strong commitment to family medicine, women's health, medical education and community service.

As a medical student, she promoted adolescent health as a teen educator at the Rochester Teen Council, and she was a regular volunteer at the Salvation Army and the Multicultural Center.  Her passion for global health has taken her to Guatemala, Argentina and Ecuador.

As a resident in Family Medicine here at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, she co-chaired the resident recruitment committee, taught medical students through the Patient Doctor and Society course, and attended local and state-wide meetings on medical policy.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys running, biking, and playing tennis.  She will be practicing full spectrum family medicine including maternity and inpatient care.

Welcome Jackie!
