    We are pleased Miguel Gamez, MD, MPH, has joined the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health as a Clinical Assistant Professor.

  7. Seeking Nominations for DFMCH Strategic Process Oversight Committee (SPOC) Members

    Background:

    In 2014, the DFMCH began a strategic planning process with the support of the Executive Team. A 10 person steering group composed of members of the DFMCH was formed. This group helped guide the initial phase of the strategic planning process from the fall of 2014 to the present. They implemented a department-wide survey in January 2015 to determine what should be the next steps for the DFMCH.   In 2015, the Steering Group helped organize three Blue Sky Conferences to think about the possibilities for the DFMCH.   8. Arboretum Cleanup a Success!

    Arboretum Service Days

    Thanks to everyone who participated in the Arboretum Clean Up on April 16 as part of the DFMCH’s Days of Service.  The weather was perfect and the Arboretum staff appreciated the help. The focus of this cleanup was at the Oak Savanna Restoration.  Thanks again to the following DFMCH members who worked to cut brush and remove invasive garlic mustard and planted Canadian rye seed.   10. Days of Service: DFMCH Volunteers Clear Section of Ice Age Trail

    Ice Age Trail Service Days

    On Saturday, March 5, 2016, a small group from the DFMCH volunteered to help clear a section of the Ice Age Trail off of Highway PB in Verona. They worked with Dave Lonsdorf, a former DFMCH faculty member from Wingra Clinic, to clear invasive trees – buckthorns – from the trail and burn seven large piles of brush.   Read more... »
